Gale saw a moose walk across the meadow this morning. We watched for a while hoping it would re-appear but no luck. Yesterday, we had fun watching two coyotes running and cavorting around in the meadow. Of course the mule deer and whitetail are regular visitors and take turns at the salt blocks. At least two of the five mulies are bucks.
It is always interesting to hear the grouse drumming because they sound like our neighbor trying to start his recalcitrant tractor. Most of them have quit but there is still one persistent guy out there, though his beat is getting weaker.
We had snow on the ground this morning though it rapidly melted...so much for our tender corn plants. I will have to re-seed at a later, safer date.
